"Lovely little hotel in beautiful onsen town"

Arima onsen is such a jewel, definitely worth the trip out of Kobe. The hotel is modern and the rooms are huge. In fact you get a small living room area as well, we also had a fridge. Yukata/geta are provided.

Be prepared to get your suitcase up a hill. There is step-free access but it's a bit hard to find if you follow Google maps. Better to follow your nose up the main street then take a right. The hotel/house is one of those places where every single noise is audible. So bring earplugs! It's not super loud but I think it could be if some noiser guests were there. Shared toilets is a bit of a shame. We didn't try the bath/shower as we just went to onsen.

everything! staff were lovely, breakfast was delicious, view was gorgeous, room was comfortable and homely. i loved going to the bathhouse in yukata provided. the staff are kind and welcoming. this is one of my favourite places i've stayed in the world. i would stay here again.

if there was a bedside lamp or bedside light switch in the room, i missed it. if there isn't that would be nice to have. water is on the first floor and toilets on the second floor was a bit of a drag after a long day of walking up the mountains but it's fine otherwise.
