Lighthouse Guesthouse

Wonderfully located close to various restaurants and a close walk to the port. The owner also helped me with tickets for the ferry and was overall very helpful. Great stay.

Super clean. Big common area. Cozy single room and comfy bed. Very nice staff. Great location.

One toilet and one shower to share per gender could get crowded but wasn't a problem when I was there. A bit more pricey than similar hostels in Seoul.

Clean. Able to be independent. Very accessible to buses and train. Quiet

The room had just the right size for me. I could decide on its temperature. It had curtains. It was not too far from attractions.

The rooms are not soundproof. I woke up with my neighboor. The owner gives you earplugs to prevent that. Regarding restaurants, if you want to test Mokpo's specialities and if you are alone, it might be hard to find a place that accept you. You can eat bibimbap alone but others want you to be at least 2.

Given the fact that it's a 8m2 room, it's as best as it could be : it's clean, well equipped, there is a kitchen for the guests to use, the host looked charming (although I saw her only very briefly).

Well..it's a 8m2 room ;-) So it was fine for one night (before taking the ferry), but I wouldn't book it if I wanted to actually stay in Mokpo - as, for example, I wouldn't be able to open my luggage. Also, if the other guests are loud, you can hear them even with earplugs.

- Location! Very close to Mokpo station, less than 3-5 minutes by walk? Also surrounded with restaurants, cafes, bakeries... Convenience store is also nearby. - Heating system works very well, hot water, almost everything needed is provided

- Poor soundproof. It's like sharing rooms with everyone else in the house except that we can't see each other since there are walls. Earplugs are provided, but still I'd not recommend for people who can't stand noises (phone notification can be heard, footsteps, using of toilet etc...) - It's just me personally but I'm not so used to the pillow provided (it's too tall)
