Wijesiri Family Guest House

Sasindu and his family were amazing hosts. Our room was spacious and clean. There is a high powered fan if you need it though it cooled off at night for us. Sasindu has a pub/restaurant just up the road with a perfect view of sigiriya fort (great beer spot) and his mother has a restaurant on the busier road that we also really enjoyed. Sasindu was kind enough to give us a few rides around to local sites and organized a really nice tuk tuk driver to take us back to dambulla after our stay for a good rate who helped us catch the public bus. We got a fresh coconut each on arrival and breakfasts had eggs each day and plenty of fresh fruit. Great value and would definitely recommend!!

When we arrived, we were welcomed with a free juice. The owner’s parents are super lovely, the room was perfect, all clean. We loved the breakfast, always included a fresh juice. The garden is perfect to enjoy some quiet moments in nature. We would have loved to stay even longer.

Sasindu is a super kind host who arranged a taxi for us from Negombo and dropped us off for our bus on our last day. He helped us with many other topics too, plus his restaurant is really nice, you should visit. The hammock is a great addition to the property, the location is quiet and very convenient for exploring Sigiriya. We enjoyed our stay!

We couldn’t figure out the hot water device very well - but maybe this one is on us, so we had some cold showers. The breakfast was pretty regular, the fresh juice was a nice addition though.

This property was situated in a perfect location close to the restaurants. It was very clean upon arrival and next to the family home. It had an en-suite shower and toilet which was also very clean. The family were incredibly hospitable and went out of their way to arrange transport and activities for us as at a lower cost than we had found elsewhere. The son arranged for us to be collected from Colombo as we were unable to get the train and he arranged our transport to the next location. The family also arranged for the son in law (I think) to take us out to the national park to see the elephants again this was at a lower cost then we found elsewhere where. Each morning we had a delicious home made breakfast which was the perfect way to start the day the family also have a downtown bar for an evening drink and own a restaurant which is were we ate most of our meals - so far the best food we have eaten on our travels. Couldn’t recommend this place more and will certainly be telling friends who are looking to travel Sri Lanka about it.

Very lovely place to stay. Nice quiet room with terrace, garden, hammock and peacocks wandering past daily. Super helpful and kind family (check out mamas cooking at the Wijesiri restaurant in town) who really go the extra mile to make a stay here memorable and enjoyable. Early morning Pidurangala, Talkote lake, and Lion Rock - the family helped with all. 10 min walk to town (and to the Downtown Pub for a well deserved beer) and 20 mins to Lion Rock. A peaceful geeen bliss. Highly recommended.

I would book this anytime again. The whole family is great and they will help you to have a perfect stay in Sigiriya. They also have a restaurant where I got one of my best meals.

Very nice bedroom, the mattress was super comfy, everything was sparkling and the toilet and shower were also great. The breakfast was in their restaurant very nearby and it was delicious!

The location is excellent, and the welcome was warm and genuine. The facilities are very good and the host could not be more helpful.
