Viraj's Garden

Owners were so friendly and accommodating! They welcomed us with drinks and snacks. Locations is perfect - right near the beach and restaurants. Great value for money.

The room was a little dark as you either had to have the windows closed or fully open but then risk having insects come in.

Right beside the beach. 900m from the town. Comfortable, very clean room. 2 large beds with very good mosquito nets. Ground floor room with good, strong fan. Large bathroom off the terrace - cold water but good water pressure. Very kind family. The son has his own taxi. Very reasonable price.

Very nice host, friendly and keen to talk with guests. The breakfast is amazing, thanks to the host mother. The history of the place is heart touching. Close to the beach, many restaurants, and they can easily arrange motorbike rental and tours.

Not a big deal but the towels need to be changed, are too old.

We had the brand new upstairs room with balcony, air conditioning and totally private. A stones through to the beach. Spotlessly clean as everything was new. Great attention to details as many sockets and lights . Outside lighting also. Although you had to look over the roof below we enjoyed sitting on the balcony and hearing the waves. We thought it was worth spending a little more to have such nice accommodation.

Maybe the lack of a door to the bathroom, there was a shower curtain. But we knew this and to be honest you can step onto the balcony whilst the facilities are being used . So really it was not a problem .

Great location - walking distance from bus stop, centre and just 10 meters from beach. Also central to explore the rest of the area. The family was friendly and super helpful. We had a great stay here! The juice for breakfast was our highlight each morning :)

Maybe in hind sight we should have booked a room with AC. The room with fan was rather small so was quiet hot every time we initially entered and we had to dance around each other. The other thing to note the bathroom did not have a door just a curtain, who h might be an issue for some. For us These werd just minor details and well acceptable given the price.

Perfect guest house for families, couples or solo travellers. The host family are wonderful, considerate and will see to any of your needs. Great outdoor dining/lounge area and 30m from the beach. We extended our stay and were sad to leave.

We stayed at Viraj's Garden in Tangalle and rented two rooms. Both were exceptionally clean and cozy, which clearly shows how much care the owners put into maintaining their property. The rooms are newly renovated, with a very fresh and inviting atmosphere. Having stayed in various hotels across Sri Lanka, Viraj's Garden stands out as one of the most charming and memorable places we've experienced. The owner, Shali, is incredibly attentive and always ready to help, which made our stay even more pleasant.

The only small downside is that there was no hot water in the shower. While the water wasn't too cold, adding a water heater would be a great improvement for future guests. However, this is a minor issue that didn't affect our overall wonderful experience.
