Binnacle Negombo

Quiet, cute and comfortable, attentive staff

We had a two day stay at the accommodation. The staff was really nice and helpful, we also enjoyed the breakfast and morning pool. The property was really clean and on good location. We would definitely book again.

Very friendly and helpful staff, they make this property worth it. Also Excellent big comfy bed with nice view over negombo through the big windows. Watercooker and coffee in room, elec mosquito repeller, fridge and even a tv. warm water shower. This is not a noisy location (except for millions of frog and the occasional dog barking), nice looking hall and pool, tasty breakfast and coffee (finally) A lot of good restaurants and supermarket nearby (try boho (great food!!) or one of the bit more expensive the Italian restaurants down the street.)

As with many places in negombo, these rooms really need renovation. Although big, clean and spacious, you can see the wear and tear this climate had over the last 10 yrs. The floor is wobbly, wooden doors don’t close well, wet black stains in bathroom, shower head spraying everywhere, shower hold/cold setting requires millimeter precision. Just a reasonable small investment would make this hotel a 4 star and a steal deal, but now, expect a bit tired rooms. The hotel Location away from main road in negombo is nice, but just as any hotel off the main road, in rainy season prepare for 30 to 40cm water in the streets. Tuktuk don’t always want to go in. Pool was a bit dirty and cleaned while we were there in rainy season, but still was the water quite murky.

Good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Large room, good shower with hot water. Efficient check in and check out. Kettle in room, fresh milk provided.

Nothing to dislike.
