The hospitality and cleanliness

Nimal was the greatest host and the room was cozy and clean, with great views. We had a great breakfast and curry dinner. We also used the laundry services and the results were satisfactory.

Nimal is a very attentive host. He prepares sandwiches for the hike to Adam's Peak, he cooks very delicious and he always has time for a little small talk to his guests. As he enjoys to communicate with them. I spent two nights there in a nice room with an amazing view and a hot shower. I can definitely recommend that place.

The owner was in the beginning really nice, even offering a welcome drink. He also offered dinner but couldn’t give us a menu when we asked for it. As he said they prepared some rice and noodles in the kitchen we just agreed on some veggie curry and rice. Because he didn’t say a price before and gave us the feeling of something pre cooked we just assumed an easy affordable meal just as we got at other guest houses before. And it was delicious but not enough to get completely satisfied (we are two small women, not eating too much). In the end he charged way too much for this portion and in comparison to other restaurant prices around. Seemed to be the strategy to just not give guests any menu and give them the feeling of fair prices just to overcharge them in the end. Also we experienced drinking water to be for free in most guest houses before, but when we asked for that he laughed at us and then we had to buy it from him. Overall the hotel was good, rooms were clean and really spacious, but we left it with a strange feeling.

I recently stayed at Hotel Nallathanniya: Queen’s Ark, and it was a pleasant experience. The owner is friendly and welcoming. The room was simple, which met my expectations for the price. The location is a major highlight—perfectly positioned as a starting point for the walk to Adam’s Peak, making it very convenient for early-morning hikers. The pricing is reasonable, offering good value for money considering its strategic location. Overall, a good choice for those looking for a practical place to stay near the trailhead.

Definitely stay at Queens Ark if you are looking to hike Adam’s Peak. The accommodation is in an ideal location and 10 minutes to the start of the hike. The rooms are very spacious and clean and great en suite bathroom with hot water. Nimal is an exceptional host and is on hand to provide help whenever you need it. He has hiked Adam’s Peak many times so can advise on what to wear, what to take, timings etc. They made us a great dinner the night before the hike and great large breakfast when we got back down in the morning. Nimal also made us some sandwiches to take with us and arranged our onward travel. Could not recommend this hotel enough. View from the room was also lovely (photo attached).

Good location to climb Sri pada! Very nice holster and delicious food!

We had a very nice stay at Queensark. The hosts are very friendly and have very interesting stories about Sri Lanka and about the nature and animals in that region. The room was very big, has a beautiful view and was very clean. The location is perfect for climbing Adam's Peak and they provided us with a food/drink package!

The food is perhaps a bit more expensive.
