Ayubowan Guesthouse

We only stayed for one night before an early flight the next but felt very pampered. The room was very comfortable and the property is immaculate. Ron and Brenda really looked after us and we were very grateful for their advice on how early to leave for the airport. They organised a car for us and Ron got up early to wave us off. We swam in the pool and it was sparkling. We felt the position, close to the beach and restaurants but only 15-20 minutes from the airport, was perfect for us.

Ron & Brenda were lovely hosts - this was a great spot to start our Sri Lanka holiday. Ron organised a trip around the town and to the lagoon and booked our onward travel, Great breakfast.

Der Aufenthalt bei Brenda und Ron war wirklich sehr schön - wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt. Die Anlage ist wirklich besonders hübsch und auch unser Zimmer war gut. Das Frühstück war wirklich hervorragend! Danke für die gute Organisation und den Aufenthalt!

Clean, hot showers, communal areas but nothing we hadn’t had at better priced places. Chose as thought paying more would be treat on last night of 21 days. Cannot see what we paid extra for.

Pool closes 18:30 - 08:00 “for chemical treatment and cleaning”. Tea & coffee is shared area, which was fine, but kettle put away from 08:00 - 13:00?! 1st time zero facility to store bags. Owners aware we had nighttime flight. Offered option for $30. Overall not a relaxing or welcoming atmosphere.

Die Inhaber des guesthouse sind so herzlich und hilfsbereit. Ich bin sehr begeistert. Auch die Unterkunft und der Garten sind sehr schön und gemütlich. Die Lage ist perfekt...ich will gerne wieder kommen.

I only stayed one night very briefly on arrival from the airport, leaving the following morning, however, the hosts were friendly and welcoming and recommended a great place for dinner. The Sri Lankan breakfast was enormous but good.

Tea/coffee facilities were on the upstairs landing rather than in your room - I like a cup of tea in bed in the morning before breakfast and it was a bit of a drag to have to get dressed and go upstairs to make it, but that's a minor issue and more to do with my habits...
