ok sure the reviews that say the place is clean are true but….

I have never minded just being next to the train but this place is right where the walk across crossing beeps from way before the train comes to until way after - the last of these happened at 11:30 and the first at 4:30 so if you don’t like a literally beep beep beep of alarm noise walking you up often (especially in the AM) then I’d choose somewhere else. Also staying in a fan room is totally good for me in my month in Sri Lanka however this room was ungodly hot idk if I was put in a room next to some sort of heating but wow it was ridiculous. The older women who was running the place was actually quite rude to me, I debated this being a language barrier but I hadn’t felt this way about anywhere else I’d stayed in my month so far here so I don’t think it was. The mosquito net does not fit around the bed properly, and having to sleep with the windows wide open was frustrating while trying not die from the heat. I hate leaving a horrible review for someone’s business but Id have appreciated reading the truth before I booked this place and I’m not sure if they had family and friends leave them reviews to have such a good rating but choose somewhere else, there’s literally no reason to stay here.

I stayed only for one night but the experience was very positive. It's a lovely home and lovely owners. They were very kind and helpful. The beach is very near.

People are lovely! Very accommodating. Can pay per kg for washing. Homely feel, close to a bus stop and beach.

The noise! Very close to a train track which is easy enough to drown out/ignore. Think the latest was 9pm but we stayed a Saturday night and there was so much noise from somewhere. Loud party music therefore had to close the windows & slept badly due to heat. May have been a one off and just because it was Saturday. We only stayed our planned one night

Nice welcoming people very affordable with nice facilities

Plenty of areas to chill, both inside and out. Nice garden and generally a quiet, peaceful place. Stayed an extra few nights.
