Studio at Matarangi

We stayed in a studio in Matarangi for four nights from 19–24 December. The studio was located next to the owner’s house, but it was very private and peaceful. Everything we could think of was provided, making the stay extremely comfortable. Our host, Sandra, was brilliant—very welcoming and always up for a friendly chat. The location was perfect, just a few minutes’ walk to the beach, and the overall atmosphere was very relaxed. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Clean, cosy, and comfy. Close to the main house but fairly private. Parking is on the grass verge outside the property. Plenty of outdoor seating options in the pleasant garden. Serenaded by birds in the day, quiet and dark by night. Easy walk to the beach and walks over to Rings Beach. Laundry available in the adjoining garage via an (unlockable) door.

Don’t count on wifi being included. (Described as “spotty and only sufficient to check emails). No space for bags/clothing.

The studio was perfect for our weekend stay needs - very clean, pleasantly appointed and in a quiet location. The host Sandra was friendly and helpful. The property is a short walk from the beach and is also handy to bush walks, which was great. We would definitely stay again.

No problems apart from a minor quibble in that was there was nowhere to hang our clothes.
