Great location with parking: somewhat tricky to get in, but you get used to it. Staff (Richie and wife) were wonderful, and so was breakfast: savory, sweet, fruit included every day. Pretty property with lush vegetation along a creek. Good Wifi throughout (I found out later that there are different routers covering various areas of the property)

Would have liked a nightlight next to the bed. Mosquitos in the room (they "love" me when I'm sleeping...). The fact that it was raining (pouring) most of the days I was there has nothing to do with the property: but plan well, and be aware that towards the end of April/beginning of May the rainy season can start with a bang.

We stayed in the hostel for one night before our 6 days sailing trip from Puerto Lindo to Cartagena. It's a nice place for backpackers close to the shops and restaurants - they have a big hand made map on the wall which shows all the spots around the village with a walking duration. The closest restaurant - Casa X - is about 10 minutes by walk and the Linton Bay Marina port is about 25 - 30 minutes by walk. The place isn't very touristy and it can be difficult to get there if you don't have a car. We arrived by bus from Portobelo but there aren't any visible bus stops so we asked the driver to stop in front of the hostel. You won't find a schedule on the internet so you always have to ask locals about the transportation (we found the bus schedule written on board in the Casa X restaurant). Taxi is very expensive and you will hardly find an Uber in this area. The hostel itself was very quiet and clean with friendly staff and delicious breakfast and I really liked they provided shampoo and shower gel. Rooms are clean and big enough to feel comfortable, there are fans so you don't feel too hot during the day and the kitchen is well furnished. If you are looking for a place to stay in Puerto Lindo and you are backpacker on the budget I definitely recommend to choose Hostel Wunderbar.

However I travelled with my partner, there was a time I went for a walk alone in the middle of the day to the store and I didn't feel safe as I was catcalled and stopped by groups of men in the cars the entire time. I wouldn't recommend to travel around this area if you are a solo female traveller as it can be very uncomfortable and even dangerous during the night.

300m away from the boats to Mamey Island but further away from the beaches . . . the accees to which is paying!!! Good wifi. Comfortable bed, hammock, outside table. Maybe a better place to relax than a base for visiting nearby.

Not so "wunderbar" as the name would indicate. Not a lot to to do in the area, with very minimal offering of restaurant.

Excellent location for lodging with friends or family, in a close viscinity to explore some of the historic landmarks such as Portobelo, Colón and to visit some of the finest island beaches along Colón's Atlantic coast in Panamá. Or simply a nice spot for a peaceful encounter with nature for meditating and relaxing. Guest can enjoy a fresh cooked meal from their menu upon previous notice or make use of the common kitchen space to prepare a quick meal. The staff, especially señora Zuleika and señor Richard, were exceptional and made the stay memorable. Last but not least, it's pet-friendly!
