Monte do Laranjal

Great location to Monsaraz, which we loved. The lady that greeted us on arrival & organised breakfast was excellent. Very Clean property & the fridge & kettle in room was welcomed.

A little cool in the evenings as no heaters came on at all and it was February! We did have a very large room so maybe a smaller would have been not so cool.

Location close to monsaraz. Beautiful surroundings. Great people.

Lovely local accommodation. Monsaraz was very oldie worldy.

Was OK but obviously cheapest products from Lidl. Could have been nicer regional products. Scrambled eggs cooked to order were well made

Bed was uncomfortable and horrible nylon sheets were unpleasant. Clearly the hotel is not being run as a going concern at the moment. But ok for the price I guess

The location

Big, confortable, and nicely decorated rooms. Amazing location and views, nice gardens and architecture, relaxed atmosphere. Kind and helpful staff. Good breakfast.

1. We got the 4 people suite, with two beds on an upper level that is accessible by stairs. But the ceiling is so low in the upper level that our kids kept bumping with their heads against the ceiling. Very annoying. 2. Even worse, the staircase is very, very unsafe for kids, especially at night. Very dangerous. 3. The Wifi never worked for any of us and the staff did not seem to care much about it. It's unacceptable that they advertise free wifi, which never works. Very frustrating. 4. No free access to kitchen facilities. A simple microwave makes a big difference when you have kids. The staff was always available to open the kitchen for us when needed, but we were always dependent on them. I don't understand why they just don't leave it open (as other places do). Or just put some microwaves in the rooms, there is plenty of space. 5. It's a bit silly that the watering system starts working automatically at 20.00 with no warning. Bad luck if tou are laying in the garden (yes, it happened to us) or seating nearby. We cannot even have dinner outside at that time. Afterwards, everything is wet, cannot walk in the garden anymore. Why don't they just do it early in the morning like all other places?

Amazing location and views of the castle. Very tranquil, beautiful gardens. The room was very comfortable and clean. Great swimming pool. The staff were absolutely brilliant. Super friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast. Looking forward to come back again.

It was ok the local restaurant mentioned was permanently closed so it was a car drive to restaurants which we were trying to avoid. Also the complex is on the for sale market so the maintenance or lack of is starting to show. Staff were great!
