Vila CLASS

The hotel is situated in the centre of town, close to the Main Street, most amenities (including a 24/7 mini supermarket) and the railway station. The hotel and room were spotless, and the room was a decent size, with a nice balcony. The room came with flat panel tv, a small desk and refrigerator, a wardrobe and an armchair, there was also an armchair and table on the balcony. Plenty of sockets for charging appliances, and good reading lights and the main room light operable from bed. I stayed in November, the room was warm, the bathroom less so but not too bad. When it was time to leave, the staff were kind enough to print off my boarding pass, and during my stay they also performed a more time consuming service for me that I was expecting to have to pay for, but for which I was not charged. I opted not to have breakfast and so cannot comment on its quality.

The main problem was the shower, which was too small for me at a somewhat corpulent 5.11 (180 cms) -- I was constantly banging my head and my elbows. In addition, it took a good while (something over 5 minutes) for the hot water to come through, both in the shower and in the sink. The other negative for me was that the reception was not (wo)manned, and the lady who was sometimes present did not speak English (I relied on a Romanian friend to help me out). I suppose the lag in the hot water supply was due to the fact that I stayed out of season and was virtually the only occupant of the hotel.
