L'Ma Lodge

This is a stunning small hotel with beautiful gardens and 7 rooms in the heart of the Skoura palmerie. Run by a Belgium woman and her French husband and with friendly local staff. Meals are excellent. Trips with local guides are worth doing. And they can organize trips further afield (they booked a desert camp overnight for is). I visited with my 11 year old son who thought it flawless and especially loved the semi-hidden retreat areas with rugs and cushions in the garden and on the roof. The animals in a corner of the garden and the pool are also great for families. We particularly enjoyed the guided cycle ride though the palmarie, stopping off at a tiny pottery for some hands-on clay throwing (small tip expected)

Beautiful and peaceful!

This place is an oasis on it's own, seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Once you find the place (you need to take a dirt road off from the main street through town), you seemingly enter a different world inside the property's walls. Such a beautiful and peaceful "resort"--the owners deserve a TON of credit for realizing their dream (and investment) and their sense of design is extraordinary. Super helpful staff all around! The Atlas was probably my favorite part of the country for it's beauty, remoteness, country-side culture (though vast in size) and Skoura is a good place to sample part of it by spending two nights and one full day touring the palmerie. (Would also recommend glamping in the desert for a night to the far east.) The dinners were excellent too (although you really have no other choice...there's nothing nearby). Thanks for making our visit there so memorable, comfortable, and beautiful!
