Hotel Calm Haven Unawatuna

Our stay at Hotel Calm Haven was nothing short of exceptional – it was truly the best hotel we stayed at during our entire trip to Sri Lanka! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and kindness that we instantly felt at home. A special shoutout to the incredible manager, Supun, the wonderful staff – Amila and Pubudu – and their adorable dog, Kiki. They are the kindest souls we’ve met and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Whether it was their attention to detail, friendly conversations, or helpful recommendations, they truly made our experience unforgettable. The hotel itself was peaceful, clean, and beautifully maintained – a true "calm haven" that lives up to its name. The breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious, making our stay even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place to relax, indulge, and feel genuinely cared for, look no further. Amazing pool. Really relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are huge! Overall a really nice hotel. Aircoditiong also worked really great! The manager was not on site, but still made sure all our needs and wants were met. Good breakfast and the staff was always smiling. They also provide tuktuk service which can bring you to town and back. Because we had our own tuktuk this hotel was a blessing, because it is really a calm haven in the outskirts of the city. Within a few minutes you are in the city Thalpe and Unawatuna and it is a short 20 minute Tuktuk drive to Galle.

I vacationed in March 2024. I liked the hotel very much. Quiet and beautiful place. The staff is very responsive. The rooms are bright and spacious. The breakfast is good. This hotel is a great place for those who are tired of the hustle and bustle of the city and looking for relaxation. It is located 20 minutes walk from the sea. Since there are not so many tourists in the area, it is possible to relax on the nearest beach without crowds of people. I recommend this hotel to everyone for whom price-quality is important.

We liked our big room which has two big windows with a view of the garden and a wonderful bathroom with an authentic design. The staff was really polite and helpful. Breakfast is really large and tasty, we didn't need lunch half of the day after such a breakfast.

Convenient location, it takes only 5 minutes to get to the beach with turtles, 10 minutes to get to the central beach and the street 👍 the rooms are clean and new compared to many hotels at this price) the manager is very kind and helps with all questions) there is a swimming pool and it is clean I highly recommend this hotel

Very calm and comfortable place. It takes ~20 minutes on foot to the nearest beach (the Turtle beach where you can swim with sea turtles) and additional ~10 minutes on tuk-tuk/bus to the busy places in Unawatuna/Galle. Our host Supun was very kind and helpful including transfer to the residence and to the airport. The rooms are very big and tidy, the pool is clean, and the place itself is surrounded by beautiful nature. Breakfasts were nice too. We booked this residence the day before the arrival due to unforeseen circumstances with another booking and couldn't be happier once we finally arrived. Highly recommend this place, feels like home.

-The owner Supun is very hospitable, genuine and down to earth, and will treat every guest equally. - The staff was kind and helpful just like the owner. -I liked that there was no cut off time for breakfast. It takes away the rush in the morning. -The room was clean and very spacious. -Simple filling breakfast.

Everything was great no complaints! Just room for improvement, -have a reception area. (We had instances where we were in need of something and couldn’t find anyone) - have tea/coffee in the room.
