White House Bungalow Hatton

The room is beautiful, bright, clean, airy and spacious and offers a beautiful view over the tea plantations. If your focus is the room and room only, I'd give rate White House Bungalow with 10 stars. It's located in a very quiet area but not to far from the center. I met a few wonderful and helpful Sri Lankans in Hatton (tuktuk driver and families owning restaurants).

Update to my first review: The manager/care taker of the house, called Raj, has been fired, which changes my main critique of this B&B. I'm assuming the new manager is an honest and decent guy and therefore am changing my rating to 8 points. I did not trust the old manager, who was way over the top and dodgy at the same time. I might be misjudging though and if so, I'm sorry. You can walk to the center, but it's not the nicest and cleanest walk and also is not well lit at night. Hatton is very local and does not have many turists, therefore the choice of restaurants are very simple and local, but nevertheless good.

Large, spacious room with amazing view and balcony. Full sized shared kitchen and dining area. Raj was a friendly host who looked after us well. Breakfast is available for a fee.

Not many restaurants or shops nearby. No other meals offered.

Value for money. Neat and clean.

The best place we stayed in Sri Lanka

The room was very large and spacious. The staff were very communicative, attentive and welcoming. The view was amazing.

Our room was not available when we arrived, and so we got moved to another (this was the guests' fault, not their own). There was a little confusion with giving passports and exchanging money.

So Radha ( manager) is very friendly and he try to help with everything. Hes absolutely fantastic person. Rooms are big, location is ok.

Bathroom and bed could be cleaner. Its not bad but in some previous reviews i saw mention about hair in shower.. so i saw it also.

Great location, amazing view, helpful staff. Best hotel I stayed in Sri Lanka!
