The hostess, Ligia, is very kind and works very hard to make you feel welcome. She made a takeaway lunch for a hike, gave great recommendations for things to do in Zarnesti, and was really helpful. (Her English is quite good.) The room was comfortable and the terrace has a lovely view of the mountains. You can also request fresh-baked pizzas! There’s free parking and it’s just a short drive to the trailhead for many hikes.

Lovely accommodation, situated in a quiet part of the village but very close to the road into Zarnesti Gorge - the Gorge was the main attraction I came to see. The Pensiunea owner was incredibly helpful with all parts of my stay and went above and beyond in making sure that I was well looked after. This included arranging an evening meal at short notice and providing breakfast the next morning - both very nice meals. The accommodation is in a beautiful setting with views into the hills and mountains, and there are both a first floor outside terrace and a ground floor courtyard where you can sit (if you have the time The owner helped me out with information about nearby attractions and tshe also told me the best sites to do walks from which was also very helpful. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed. I could not fault any aspect of my stay here.

We loved staying here. We booked our holiday to Romania in January with literally no travel plans at all, only wanting to get out to the mountains. Ligia was such a wonderful host, giving us loads of tips about where to hike and what routes would be safe in the snow season. We hiked from there to the mountain hut cabana curmatura in the snow which was awesome, and Ligia very kindly let us borrow her bear spray! Also the pizza was super yummy. Would stay there again for sure.
