Cosy Cottage in the Vines

Could be a great place just needs a bit more focus from the owners.

Too much furniture 4 sofas not needed making it cramped. Mismatched patterned duvet covers, dirty windows, dirt in the hot tub, clutter is the drawers. Patio needs a brush. No breakfast despite saying ingredients would be provided. Cleaner still there at 2.40pm despite it saying we could check in at 2pm. Waipara wine cycle route needs more signs. They should make a point of saying cycles available for that purpose, instead they want you to pay extra for that. A disappointing place - photos show its promise but it’s not like that when you get there.

Great location, plenty of space in the cottage for the two of us. Nearby bike trail was great and proximity to a number of wineries. Very comfortable stay.

Just needed a few more items to be a great stay (toilet paper, second bed made up, kitchen cloth, milk for a cuppa). Would still happily stay again.

Great location and I’ve never heard so many birds singing continually! Amazing view too. The host was very diligent in looking after us.

A bit too much furniture in the room which made it very crowded. Probably one less sofa would make the room feel more spacious, without losing its cosiness.

Excellent accommodation in a beautiful place

Location was great. Pity we didn't get to stay.

The Cottage was dirty. Stuff left in dishwasher. Food remnants in microwave, cooker and on the benchtop. Appliances looked like they had never even been given a wipe down. Sofas had dirt all over them. Carpets grubby and not vacuumed. Linen on bed may have been changed, I bet the duvet cover was not, but wasn't going to chance it, so left and drove 4 hours home instead. Advertised as dog friendly. Was met by the owners free roaming dog that growled at our dog and promptly pooped in front of cottage. Hopefully no international guests visit as it is embarrassing. Always check all the reviews. I must learn that! Plenty of reviews mentioning dirt and poor value for money. Owners have refused to refund the $315 for one night and Booking.com won't to do anything about it.
