Motel Tuan Phuong

I had a fantastic stay at this motel! The hosts were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to assist us with everything we needed. The rooms were spotless, and the location couldn’t be better—just a short walk to the beach. On top of that, the price was unbelievably affordable, especially considering the prime location and outstanding service. Highly recommended!

For context, we have stayed in countless hotels around Asia at this price-point and never left a bad review before. The room was small and had no windows, so was very claustrophobic and felt like a prison cell. The towels were tiny and thin, as was the duvet on the bed. No fridge, shower gel or shampoo. No elevator so you have to carry you suitcases up multiple floors. The door was translucent and so let in the light from the hallway at night. Terrible soundproofing so you can hear the plumbing gurgling and the other guests and staff around the hotel all day and night. The local area is dirty and dilapidated; and you have to cross a big, busy road to get to the beach. The beach is okay but not worth staying overnight to see - stay in a better area and get a taxi there for a morning/afternoon if you really want to see it. And, this is the only hotel in Asia that we have stayed at which requires you to take your shoes off but won’t let you leave them at the entrance to the hotel/bottom of the stairs: you have to carry them upstairs with you along with all your cases - they literally chased us up the stairs with our shoes insisting that we couldn’t leave them with all of the staff’s shoes, which is a small thing but made us feel unwelcome.
