"Peaceful riverside lodge on the Vaal with great food, spacious stays, and a relaxing barge cruise."

This lodge is situated right on the Vaal river when you travel on a short dirt road off the Douglas/Kimberley road. Peaceful setting with a good restaurant on site. We opt for a lazy barge cruise on the river. Remember to pack mosquito repellent. The nearest shop is about 12km away, but there is a farm stall about 4km away. Breakfast was nice and we also had dinner from the restaurant – big portions. On the other side of Douglas you'll find a spot where the Vaal and Orange rivers meet. Take cash with for entry.

Nothing, except a bit of mould in the bathrooms. Be prepared to drive about 3km dirt road to get to the destination.
