The place was fantastically well appointment and very comfortable, Eva was very kind and helpful, made us very welcome and provided local water and fruit, the place was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the area very much, country side beautifull and the Douro Valley great. Will be recommending to friends

We can highly recommend this accommodation. The house is located in Zimao, an old town of traditional stone houses located at the hillside with views over the valley. The host Eva was very friendly and gave us good recommendations what to see and to do in the area, like waterfalls, lakes and the beautiful countryside. I think the location is ideal for hiking and biking. The house and rooms were very clean and well equipped. The house is an old town house but very nicely renovated with fine decorations and the attention to details. There is a big and fully equipped kitchen to be used by all of the only 3 rooms as well as a balcony with a beautiful view at sunset over the valley. We stayed in the studio that is spacious as well as its bathroom. The bed was comfortable. We had a great time there and enjoyed our stay.

Parking is tight for just one small car outside, otherwise you’ll have to park down a hill. Heating was advertised, but not available on a day that reached 14 degrees, with rain. So all areas were cold, and not possible to dry anything. Bed coverings were not sufficient, with none at all for the single bed. The mattresses are hard, if that suits you. Not possible to sit at a desk in the room, if you want to use a laptop, and lighting in the room is limited. It’s a drive if you want to find shops or a restaurant.

Eva has been so gentle and gave us a lot of suggestions. The house is super in everything: brand new, extremely clean, the shared kitchen is very well equipped. There is tea, coffee, olive oil, salt (everything that you need if you want to cook).

All has been perfect. Just a little suggestion for the host, to put an hair dryer in the bathroom.
