Far out so need a driver. Once in you won’t want to leave.

Non accettano carta di credito nonostante non ci siano nelle vicinanze nè ATM nè money excange, bisogna organizzarsi il giorno prima.

Lovely place with a beautiful view. We definitely recommend going to the natural pool. The room was spacious and comfortable.

It is a little difficult to find, so you just need to make sure you've checked on SatNav beforehand as you will loose signal as you get closer.

Three major things going on at Benjamin cottage: firstly the view is absolutely gorgeous. It’s quite isolated, this place, so if you want bars etc it’s probably not for you, but if you like peace, quiet, nature, you will love it. Secondly, the cottage has its own waterfall. It’s about 15 mins down a track, and it’s very likely that you will have the place to yourself, as we did. Absolutely magical. Thirdly you have the absolute legend that is Udita, the manager and chef. Utterly brilliant. Need a car for the five hour trip to Colombo to make your train? Hardly any notice? Udita will sort you out in a flash, with a huge smile on his face. What a guy. One of the most extraordinary places of our trip.

No negatives

The view is absolutely stunning, you feel completely secluded in the middle of the jungle. The room is spacious and very well decorated . We loved staying there, listening to the many animals around and reading on the balcony. The staff is doing their best and was quite accommodating. It’s a bit far from haputale, but we knew this before booking so not a problem to us.

I would have put a 9/10 or 10/10 but a few things need to be corrected in our view : - the tuk tuk driver of the hotel barely speaks English which is not convient for custom trips - the food is average and options are limited - our bed frame is too small and our feet did not touch the mattress + the bed linen are too short for the mattress size - walls are not well isolated. We could hear our neighbour guests loud and clear . It was not a big issue as we all went to sleep early - if you can, ask for a room above the living room and not the kitchen, because it seems there is no air extractor in the kitchen and staff leaves window wide open to airstream oil fumes which is very smelly from our balcony - last but not least, the hotel only accepts cash - which was not mentioned in the hotel policies on the app and we didn’t get any notice in advance. It seems they now corrected this but they should at least send messages to guests

Very narrow road, take cash or have to transfer money.. no card payments due to poor Internet reception in the area

Missing toilet paper which is minor With the wood flooring (which is very nice) the soundproofing is a bit poor Breakfast was great as well and manager was so nice
