Lovely calm surroundings. Location great - next to town and beach.

Uncomfortable beds. No AC - very warm in room

Beautiful vista. Kind owners. Nice location. You are welcomed like one of the family. Fun murals/creativity and all of the guests were great. The kitchen is well stocked and everything is very clean and tidy. The place and location have a more authentic Mexican vibe. It was no problem for me but there are many stairs so it is not ideal for those with mobility issues. I prefer it much more but the beds were on the firm side if you like soft beds. I have no real negatives. These are just observations to help you choose.

First of all, I really wish I could give this place a 10. See the cons for reasons about this rating. These people are about the finest, most friendly and helpful you will ever encounter. Bastian and Carina attend to your every need. The housekeeper is a really good person who tries her best to fulfill your day to day requirements. The view from the apt. we were given was awesome. We actually watched the town come to life every morning from the bathroom window. The breeze and foliage from the apt. were perfect. We are from a place that has palm trees but not as much foliage. The birds came and went and were a delight for the wife. Walking down a brick/concrete path leads right into town. Not much to do there except walk across the street to the beach, which is charming with all the fishing boats. For the most part a really good stay for our 3 weeks there.

As with many places you find yourself, you can't always control the circumstances around or in the property. In this instance the most disturbing issue for us was all the barking dogs at night. Some places are just like that and is beyond the control of the management. Such was the case here. Not intolerable but very much a nuisance. Slept many nights with all the windows closed and the fans blowing. Their dogs were very appropriate about when they bark as when people are approaching the property they don't know. Very good animals I might add. The only other issue was with an Iguana who had to come back for more than 1 visit to eat our food at night. Actually a unique experience catching it and then the owner took it somewhere. Another concern were the conditions found in the town that had a lot of rumble and wondering dogs.

Gundi y Tomas is basic and homey, spotlessly clean - Bastien and Carina who own it are kind and helpful. It's hot at night, but that's to be expected. Hammocks to enjoy the afternoon breeze. Friendly and chill. A very sweet spot.

The steps to get to hotel with luggage, ugh!!

The open kitchen - with all the utensils needed to prepare food and coffee - was great. Similarly it was a treat to have free access to lots of food and drink left behind by previous residents. These vittles were placed in special bins (inside the fridge and on pantry shelves clearly listed as "giveaways" to be consumed by any interested residents.
