If you need a place close on the Malaysian side of the Thailand boarder then this is good option. The town has a decent selection of restaurants and shops for such a small town, all within walking distance. There was an issue with the air conditioner when I arrived, and the host responded and addressed it quickly.

The bathroom has really bizarre drainage. The sink is in the bedroom, but drains to the bathroom floor on the uphill side of the bathroom door, so if you use the sink and then enter the bathroom then you’ll step directly into the water that was just in the sink. Note that the bathroom is always going to be the temperature of the outdoors. This is fairly common in parts of Thailand and presumably surrounding areas, but it can be jarring if you’re not expecting it.
