Not a whole lot

If you’re thinking of booking Lorelei Guest House, seriously reconsider. We booked a **3-bedroom house**, but because only 2 guests were selected during booking, we were only given access to **2 out of the 3 bedrooms**—the third was literally locked. I’ve honestly never experienced something this ridiculous. If you’re going to rent a “3-bedroom house,” then rent the whole house. By that logic, should you also remove extra plates, cups, and chairs? Maybe leave just two forks while you’re at it? We raised the issue immediately at check-in, only to be told we’d have to **pay extra to unlock the third bedroom**, and that it couldn’t even be arranged that same day for vague, “reasons.” So our kids ended up sleeping on the couch the first night. To make it worse, we later discovered the host lives right next door—meaning there was absolutely no real reason the room couldn’t have been made available immediately. It was simply a choice to inconvenience us. Eventually, we agreed to pay extra, but not without unnecessary back-and-forth. The host even tried to charge **more than the rate listed on Booking.com** and pushed to handle the payment **outside the platform**, clearly to avoid commission. Completely unprofessional. Privacy is also a joke here. The host constantly monitors the property via CCTV, and you genuinely feel watched the entire time. If you enjoy being under surveillance during your holiday, then this might be the perfect spot for you. We also had friends over one evening for a simple barbecue—nothing wild—and were immediately confronted about “extra guests” as if we were running a nightclub. On the same night,we were told to turn down music that wasn’t even loud and was switched off by 9:30 PM. To be fair, the house itself is nice. But the experience is completely ruined by an **overbearing, inflexible, and frankly unreasonable host**. Between the locked rooms, constant monitoring, and nickel-and-diming, this felt less like a holiday stay and more like
