Staff is very friendly and always happy to help and have a chat. Felt very welcome. The room is spacious with a queen sized bed and comfortable enough to sleep. you also have a computer table. The location is right in the centre but away from hearing the traffic. Showers are good and there is free filtered water and a small kitchen area to use.

There is a speaker close by so you hear the Muslim prayers multiple times a day including early morning. Very unpleasant. No windows in the room so no natural light coming through. Overall though good value for money and you have what you need so I recommend the place

We stayed at the We Love Guest House for a total of three nights. The reception was very quick and the location in the center of Chinatown is very convenient. There are plenty of food options nearby, even if you're not on a bike or scooter (which I would always recommend in Penang). The rooms are very basic and literally have nothing more than a bed (we stayed in a double room with two single beds). There are plenty of bathrooms available, which were also cleaned regularly. There is a small kitchenette, but we didn't use it as there is a wide range of cheap and very good food in Penang. For a stay in a guesthouse, which is actually more like a youth hostel, the overall experience was fine.

There is not much to complain about when you consider the price to be paid. The rooms are very basic and the mattresses of the beds are not really good. They are very soft and in our case were a bit saggy.

The guesthouse is very friendly, centrally located, walking distance to main sites in Georgetown and Chulia street with pubs & bars. The bus station is 2 minutes round the corner, so does 7 Eleven and many good local restaurants. There's also a self-laundry on the other side of the street. The staff is nice and helpful, Jackie is very talkative and makes the atmosphere very warm. He speaks good English and gave me a lot of useful information when I arrived. I had a single room, but I was upgraded to a double one upstairs. You have Aircon in the room, shared bathrooms and kitchen equipped with filtered water, a fridge, and a small gas cooker.

Cleaness can be definitely improved, especially in the kitchen and in the fridge that hasn't been cleaned maybe for ages. There's no common sitting area. The courtyard that had chairs and a table in the photos is now the place where a lady washes her clothes every day.
