La Villa 126 Dakar

This is a lovely little place in Dakar - what stood out for us were the wonderful staff and delicious food (both breakfast and dinner) and the location is good too.

Our room had a balcony but it was very small and very dusty from the building site just opposite (see photo). Also, because the bed is positioned right in front of the only window and the blinds completely block out the light, it's not possible to just chill in bed during the day without the people in the street/building site being able to observe you - unless you close the blinds and turn on the lights which is a shame. The other rooms have better layouts I believe. Our second issue with was a long-term resident who had basically set up his office in the common area so unfortunately we had to eat our breakfast and dinner while listening to his very loud business calls - really ruined the atmosphere...Might be a good idea to suggest he works from his room ;)

Die Unterkunft war wunderschön, sehr gut gelegen und ein unglaublich leckeres Frühstück. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

The villa is very clean , the staff very professional and helpful, always willing to help to find needed services . Mrs Awa is just awesome.

The food was not great . I ordered grilled fish and it was burned instead of grilled. The sauce was too sour. I ate because I was hungry and tired . They should sit sauces on the side instead of pouring it on the fish in case the client doesn't like the sauce .

Nous avons passé un peu plus d’une semaine à la Villa 126 et avons vécu une excellente expérience. L’emplacement est idéal : facile d’accès et pratique pour se déplacer à Dakar, notamment pour aller à l’île de Ngor et dans le quartier des Almadies. Dès notre arrivée, la villa nous a donné l’impression d’être comme chez nous, avec une atmosphère chaleureuse et accueillante. L’hôtesse a été exceptionnelle : très aimable, attentive et toujours disponible pour aider. Elle s’est vraiment surpassée en organisant un chauffeur lorsque nécessaire, en s’adaptant à nos préférences pour le petit-déjeuner et en répondant à toutes nos questions sur la vie à Dakar, ce qui a grandement enrichi notre séjour. Le personnel était tout aussi remarquable. Tout le monde, des cuisiniers à l’équipe de ménage en passant par les agents de sécurité, était gentil, professionnel et toujours prêt à aider avec le sourire. Leur hospitalité a fait toute la différence dans notre expérience. L’environnement est parfait pour toute personne recherchant confort, détente et une ambiance conviviale lors d’un séjour à Dakar. La villa est bien entretenue, propre et aménagée avec soin. Je recommande vivement la Villa 126 et j’y retournerais avec grand plaisir, je l’espère très bientôt.
