Sweet Life Guesthouse

The room is nice and clean so are all the facilities. Rent a scooter and use this as a good starting point for seeing koh Lanta. It's very nice and quiet in the rooms even though there's a full house of other visitors.

Location is not as near to old town as we had expected, but nevertheless not that far that you can't walk there.

The staff onsite was nice and the overall facilities were clean. The room size was good and the location is good for the old town.

The bed was on the floor, the mattress was hard so the owner provided a mattress topper. I wish there was more communication from owner, they live on the island but provide very little service face to face, its all via phone.

The other guests were quite noisy and disturbing but you cannot blame the owners. I also wished the owners would provide a face to face check-in as they gave us lot of information via the phone.

Wir hatten einen perfekten Aufenthalt! Unterkunft ist sehr sauber, Gastgeber sind sehr bemüht, Lage war für uns ideal. Man kann zu Fuß nach Old Town gehen, hier gibt es viele gute Lokale und es ist sehr ruhig und entspannt. Allerdings braucht man einen Scooter um zu den Stränden auf der Westseite zu kommen (Taxis sind recht teuer, im Osten sind keine Strände). War für uns kein Problem - wir bevorzugen die ruhige Lage und fahren gerne mit dem Roller.

Der Boden im geteilten Bad ist nach dem Duschen leider nass - Flip Flops mitbringen, damit man beim Toilettengang oder Hände waschen keine nassen Füße bekommt.

There was nothing I didn’t like!

I stayed at Sweet Life Guesthouse for four weeks, and my experience was excellent. The staff were extremely kind, attentive, and always willing to help. Since I was traveling while working remotely and doing my PhD, I asked if it was possible to have a desk in my room, and they arranged it without any problem. This made a huge difference and helped me a lot during my stay. The room was very comfortable and well-equipped with both air conditioning and a fan, which is essential given the heat and humidity. Housekeeping was done regularly and very thoughtfully, even though sometimes I preferred to clean the room myself. The common areas also have fans, although coverage can be limited at times, so the room becomes a very good refuge during the hottest hours. There is a shared kitchen and space to cook, which was very useful for a long stay. Overall, the guesthouse met my needs perfectly in terms of comfort and functionality. I later shared some small suggestions with the staff, and they kindly told me that I could have mentioned them during my stay so they could have made it even more comfortable. Honestly, I had already asked for many things and didn’t want to be a bother, maybe that’s my Latin American side 😊 This only shows how kind, open, and supportive the staff truly are. The area is peaceful and local, your neighbors will be chickens, ducks, birds, goats, and plenty of cats you’ll meet along the way. The staff were also very supportive in helping with reservations and encouraging me to explore the island by scooter, which I truly appreciated. Overall, my stay was extremely comfortable, and I felt very well taken care of. I would definitely recommend Sweet Life Guesthouse, especially for longer stays, remote workers, or anyone looking for a calm and authentic local experience.

One important thing to consider is the location. The guesthouse is in a very local and quiet area, far from the main swimming beaches and the more touristy zones. However, Old Town is very close and easily reachable on foot, as well as tours departing from Old Town Pier. Renting a scooter is essential, as taxis can be quite expensive, especially if you are traveling solo.
