Red Cottages Staveley

It has a beautiful fireplace, a very comfortable double bed, spacious living room, and a well stocked kitchen. It has a gorgeous view of snow capped mountain, especially when you soak in the bathtubs. The owner is very friendly and ensured that we were looked after, even though they themselves had to be overseas. We find this an excellent choice especially you are here for skiing at Mt Hutt - better than staying anywhere else in Methven.

Nothing to dislike - but as a suggestion, it would have been great if there is a curtain at the glass door in the bathroom, to provide privacy and keep the draft from coming in, so that we don't feel so cold after shower.

This place is amazing! Everything is modern and beautiful. Double outdoor bath on a calm night is amazing, also has indoor shower for when it's not calm. Super comfy bed, comes with a well equipped kitchen. Has a washer and dryer, great couch and table. Stunning mountain views and has a proper cinema on the property. The table tennis is also fun :-D also if you forget to bring wine they have wine there you can purchase. We stayed here because it's close to Mt Somer hikes and not too far away from Christchurch. This was the best place we stayed on our road trip around the South island and are looking to include it for the next roadie! Loved it!

Everything, was so homely and so relaxing

There wasn't anything I didn't like. The only thing was the fireplace smoke was a bit strong and lingered in both the Kitchen and living.

Everything was just perfect. It was very clean and comfortable and had great amenities including the outside bathtubs and movie shed. Lots of little touches that didn’t go unnoticed.
