Hostal Gemina

Excellent

Staff was not nice. They asked to pay for the 11 days at front in my first day. I saw a cockroach in my room, in the bathroom. The bed is awful, the mattress is old and unconfortable . The blankets were not clean enough. There were too much noise from outside (cars were driving back and forth making a lot of noise. I asked to change room and they said no. Breakfast is ok. They need to incorporate lunch and dinner with affordable prices. Hostal is located in an area sorrounded by very extremely expensive restaurants. Taxis from the hotel charge too much comparing regular taxis. Hostel doesn’t have a Whatssupp number to call.

One of my favorite places, hostal gemina is like a good book - a favorite old book - with a human dimension reminiscent of more simple times. Super friendly staff, comfy rooms, hot shower and charmingly furnished & decorated with old telephones, radios and other objects of bygone days.

Luis at the front desk was great. Solid guy. Nice location, although I didn’t get to enjoy the neighborhood enough. Shower had hot water and good pressure.

Street outside the property was a more busy street. But not incredibly so. But enough that I didn’t look to open a window at night. Never woke up from traffic on the street though.

Good location, comfortable bed

The receptionist didn’t know anything and couldn’t provide a proper information. We had breakfast included, but had to leave early and they don’t offer lunch box option (unlike any other hotels and hostels that we have stayed in Peru), so that was surprising. Also you can hear cars passing through the street during the night.
