Sarisa House

Great location, friendly staff. Nice, clean kitchen that is fully stocked so you can cook anything you like. Relaxing hammock and lounge areas on all floors. Area on the top of the building to hang your laundry to dry. Fast Internet. Filtered water always available. Clean premises, nice place overall. Reliable airport transfer service. Fans in rooms, comfortable beds. We actually stayed here twice, the first time we just walked up because we weren't sure what day we'd arrive because we took the slow cargo boat from Yurimaguas to Iquitos. Then we booked a night through booking.com for our final night in Iquitos.

Rooms with direct sunlight (those with windows out onto the street) stay really warm no matter what you try to do. Obviously the property can't really control this, just be warned. Iquitos is warm and sticky jungle weather. The fan helps but you'll still be sweating in your sleep. Not a big deal though.

Iquitos as a town is mighty noisy . . I have concern for the people living therein consistency X

Sara's house is very beautiful and clean, with a nice well furnished kitchen, sofas and terrace to chill! Room was simple but clean and confortable, and most important less noisy than any other place in Iquitos. To reach city center It only costs 2/3 soles by motocarro

Nothing really!

Sarissa’s family is so amazing so accommodating and some of the loveliest people I’ve met.

My only issue for me was air conditioning, but I got used to it after a few days and it wasn’t so bad

Hot at night

The hostel is in a beautiful traditional house at about 1/2 hour walk from the center (beware of motortaxi drivers who will tell you all sorts of lies to convince you to go to another hotel of their choice so they can get a commission). The room, living room and kitchen are new and well organized and equipped. Sarisa is a wonderful host who will help you in any way and can advise you about tours in the jungle, etc.

Staff was very helpful and easy to communicate with. The place felt very safe and was clean. WiFi was much better than excpected. Around the hotel you can find planty tiny restaurants with local street food - it is tasty and very cheap. In general location is not very close to the tourists attractions, but it feels more interesting in some other aspects.

Our room was very noisy because of the busy street and all sounds from corridor. The bathroom was small and not comfortable. However, it was much better than I expected.
