The Kichwa House

The Kichwa House is simple but has everything you need. A small store right next door, a massage place and gym just up the road if you fancy getting a treatment or working out, a relaxing rooftop with chairs and hammock and the most stunning beach literally a stone’s throw away. Breakfast was always fresh and served right at the beachfront restaurant. Anytime I needed something, I could reach out to G — he was super kind and always happy to help. I felt well taken care of.

Nothing really, just keep in mind it’s a simple setup, which I personally prefer.

I had a great stay at The Kichwa House! My room was small but comfortable, and the breakfast with fresh fruits every day was really good. The receptionist Gee was the best—so kind and helpful! The location is perfect, just a few steps from the beach, restaurants, and shops. I highly recommend this place!

It would be great to have better storage space.

Delayed flight. Informed manager. Arrived in pitch black. Told noone in property. At 71 solo female not best of health.... no bearings of village anything..little perturbed. Nothing to drink no water coffee tea. Dreadful!!!!!! No visitor Info book with WiFi codes map of village shop atm restaurant!!! Beautiful traditional build property. Air con, daily cleaner. Part Owner runs a charity. Was promised recompense.NOT FORTH COMING!!!!!! Muslim hospitality..NONE. I HAVE TRAVELLED THE WORLD Antartica to Polar Regions incl. Greenland. SHAME ON YOU. Plus retired Criminal Barrister..Don't treat people like this....!!!! Charged 55 us dollars for airport taxi. Water!!! coffee milk!! The Manager did kindly get me Toothpaste toothbrush and disposable razor!!! RIP OFF. Told locals ....shame on you. Asked for help with driver to get to Kendwa. Given tel no which didn't work!! NOT HELPED!!! Felt really low depressed alone unhappy For 1st day..Dreadful... Met wonderful Italian woman and introduced to Buru, a professional driver and tourist guide. Lives in Kiwendwa invited to his home for a meal meet family .AMAZING AND WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. Did trips of S Island Beaches.

We had a big problem with the accommodation: everything was different from the description on booking, and we were very disappointed. The room (on booking "spacious 500 square meters"!) was so small that we could not open the suitcase. Compared to the description on booking, there were no clothes rack, no coffee table, no closet, no soundproofing, the dining area was not in the house. The window was small, and we could not open it because it overlooked a driveway and there was noise in the morning from 6:30 by passing people. In the bathroom the toilet seat was broken, the sink was microscopic and unusable because of the shelf and no water came out. Sheets and pillows were stained. Compared to what is written on Booking, the house was not beach front, no separate entrance, no water bottle. Poor breakfast service. Breakfast was miserable: an omelet, fruit and stale bread, and not even a cup of tea. Zero attention or welcome: we even had to ask for cutlery and jam, despite it being 8 a.m. Other absent services listed on booking were yoga classes, safe, room service, sun beds on the beach... Considering this the price is crazy, for the same amount you find facilities with real service and swimming pool.

It was all lovely clean peaceful and confortable, mr G always there for any need and mrs Anita so extraordinary in her Daily cleaning. You can have your breakfast Just in front of a dreamy Sea!

Sometimes there Is no electtricity , no water and no WiFi , they Need some hours to put It back ....... Anyway they do their best.

Everything you need to have a perfect holiday.Great location, comfortable rooms cleaned every day, a very friendly and helpful host who will help you with everything. G - thank you very much one more time beacuse you made the time spent there wonderful!

The Kichwa House is the best place to stay in Kiwengwa! The staff is very welcoming and kind, ready to help you when you need. The house is just in front of a beautiful beach where you can also have kitesurf lessons. The place is quite but well served and not far from the village if you need to go for shopping. Definetly recommended.

The property is really well maintained, maybe on the new side and the bed was very comfortable and the shower hot and wonderful. And, the staff were super friendly and helpful!

The breakfast was okay, but it would be better if it was available at the property rather than a neighboring restaurant and I have definitely had better in Zanzibar. And, droving myself to the property was a nightmare. Some signage would really help as well as updated contact info for someone not out of the country.

Sweet little place right near the beach. The house is locally owned and the staff are so accommodating.
