Herbs Guest House and Restaurant near the Sea

My mom and her husband arrived to the property and their kubo had a foul odor. They talked to the property and these said that they should cancel through booking. Booking circled their way to the property, saying the room should be cancelled through the property. Non of these two (property nor booking) offered a valid solution (an alternative kubo, another hotel?) their customer service is so poor that my Mom had to go to book another hotel room (with payment implications) whilst this hostel retained the full amount and didn’t even offer any alternative solutions. I’m using this platform since 2013 and I never had encountered a venue who retain your full amount even you’re not using their services. They have probably re booked the same room and doubled their earnings.

Amazing staff and lovely home stay

Everyone is just lovely. The whole accomodation has a wonderful vibe. The food is always freshly made and also grown by the owners! They were always around to help us and even made us fresh sandwiches when we left at 5 AM! We really had a great time and would love to come back.

Honestly there was nothing that bothered us. Just because I‘ve seen many negative reviews from others: Yes, you can hear animals at night - nothing the owners could control. Their own animals are quiet. The rooms are like in the pictures; the windows don‘t have glass, which does make a lot of airflow possible that we loved. You need a moped to get around which you can book here and the roads aren‘t always the best but again - nothing the owners could control. But it’s really near all the main attractions and a little drive is always met with beautiful scenery and a perfect moment to cool down.

Charming little place, definitely an experience. The food was good, and the staff very helpful with anything we needed. They run an honesty book system which is rare to see these days!

There was a slight confusion with my booking upon arrival and I'm not convinced we were given the size bungalow we originally booked. But it didn't bother us too much, except there was very little space to put our things down. No room cleaning or fresh towels unless you ask, I guess? We stayed for 3 nights but again, it didn't bother me to use the same towel or sleep in the same sheets. It would have been nice to have some shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom though!

The road is a little bumpy getting there but it's quiet and really a great getaway

The staff were nice and friendly and it’s only a 2 minute walk to the sea to swim. They also arranged our transport for us and we booked canyoneering easily through them.

I think if you’re going to stay in a hostel in moalboal you might as well stay closer to town. They waited for us to check in at 10pm which was good of them but we didn’t even get given our room key or told much about the place. We had to go back to reception and look for the key ourselves as the man already left. WiFi doesn’t work in the rooms, only in the restaurant area.

The place is simply great 10 min far from the center calm at night KIKO the manager is a fantastic man and dive master. All the staff is kind and always at disposal I am going to miss them! I hope to come back soon!

Room was spacious and setting overall looked cozy. Breakfast was very nice

I have the feeling cleanliness could have been better, room was very humid and we had leaking in the bathroom so it was always full of water. The net around the bed for mosquitoes has small holes and many stains plus larvas of insects stick to the wall - so it resulted a bit disgusting.
