Domeniul Acasa in Vadu Izei Maramu

We loved the garden and the proximity to Maramureș's attractions. We enjoyed the time spent with the hosts, great people that pay attention to one's needs and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Also enjoyed the local dishes that were served at dinner time.

Reasonably convenient location and easy parking.

Having to take 2 suitcases up an external flight of stairs and then bring them down, about 20 steps, without help was not good. There was no view rot speak of. The room was barely adequate. The main bedroom had space only for the bed but an open suitcase would not fit in. The entry room/bedroom had a double bed, 2 small chairs and a small table that were not fit for the purpose. There was really nowhere to sit comfortably in the room apart from the bed. At night, the dogs in the neighbourhood barked very loudly for hours, very very noisy. Breakfast was not included and cost an extra 35 Lei per person per day but we were not told what was what especially as my wife is a vegetarian and I do not eat pork. It seems they cook their eggs in pork fat. There were a number of items in glass bowls but we did not know what was what so we left it all as we could not risk having meat, fish or pork. There was no fruit and the juice tasted like powdered orange juice. The breakfast for the price was substandard. There was no maid service and when we returned from a day out, the beds had not been made and the bathroom had not been cleaned. There is no airconditioner in the room and it got quite hot in the room. We could not open the balcony window because of the barking dogs. We did not have dinner at the place so cannot comment.

Friendly & welcoming staff, genuine approach linked to the customs known in the area. We generally felt welcome and were accommodated to our requests. We were served great breakfast and other meals, and enjoyed spending time in the nice garden.

The communication has suffered a bit linked to transparency & precision, ex. no costs were provided/listed upfront for the meals (separate fees than accomodations), also no fixed/pre-announced Menus for the daily meals until closer to meal time for most of the days. Additionally, during our 3-days stay the room was not cleaned and/or replacement sheets/towels provided - most likely we could've requested & receive but this is not something we were focused on.

The location is wonderful and the staff is exceptional. They were so warm and welcoming—we felt like family immediately!
