I really enjoyed the comfortable room and bed. It was everything I needed for my stay. The breakfast was delicious and it was lovely to be in the hot tub under the stars.

Beautiful gardens and a nice touch to have a hot tub, even if it wasn't accessible to me. Bed was comfy. Good wifi.

Quite noisy, as others have remarked. It is near the highway which is understandable, but my room itself was next to a kitchen or laundry, which was noisy and had the loud beeping of a washing machine or dishwasher left unattended. But all this is fine and I'm not fussed, the, one niggly complaint is that nowhere on this site nor the accommodation site does it say that you have to let anyone know if you want to use the hot tub. As a late booking, and with Jaco being away for an op, I didn't get the warm welcome on the day that others have mentioned. This is also understandable. He'd arranged for a staff member to open up for me, but when I quickly went to grab my bags and got back to my room, there was nobody around to ask about anything. Any hot tub requirements were not communicated. By the time I found Jaco at about 5pm....he said it was too late to heat the tub, it would only be warm by 8 or 9pm that night. As a key feature and the real reason for my booking, this was disappointing. I felt like he was actively discouraging me from asking to heat it, even if he did reluctantly offer to do so; he first emphasised that guests usually let them know (how?), and that it would take several hours to heat up (surely nearly everyone wants this in winter... and I could have been asked at any point from arrival at 3pm through to finding him at 5pm). I kept expecting someone to whatsapp or check in on me...but was left entirely to my own devices until I went actively looking for assistance. I was also not sure what the guest area was nor what constituted Jaco's house, so didn't want to wander too much around the premises. The only time he came through was at 11:30am the next day, to let me know I was checking out late. Luckily, my bags were packed and I was ready to go.

An absolute gem of a place! Everything you need and more! Jaco is a fantastic host and looked after us so well. Frank is a star, who helped with our luggage and the warming of the hottub, which was pristine. My 90yr old mom loved the tub!
