The property is quiet and serene, whilst still providing modern niceties like great wi-fi and all the necessities for self-catering. There is a big fire pit in the common area, as well as a small braai area around the different accommodations, all of which are fully stocked with wood. Allowing guests the option to braai or make a fire to sit to around. Rodney is an exceptional host. Lovely, warm, accommodating and helpful, without being overbearing. He's very knowledgeable of the area and is quick to fill you in on the local sights and hiking spots. Nothing seems too much of a ask for him and he made us feel completely at home, during our stay. The accommodation offers catering at extra cost. I'd highly recommend booking dinner for one / two nights. My partner and I had a three course meal, which was both amazing and great value. We chose to have dinner by the fire pit, looking out on the stars. The food, atmosphere and attention to detail was fantastic. All in all, we'd jump at the opportunity to come back a second time.

The property is quite remote in the sense that it is 30 minutes to the closest shops or restaurants, so I'd suggest bringing all the necessities and food in at once. Additionally, the gravel road leading to the property is a bit tricky to navigate in a sedan / hatchback, but would be absolutely fine with a bigger car. However, once you get used to the roads traversing them becomes a lot less tricky.

The scenery, wild-life, long walks and peace and tranquility were amazing. Rodney was an exceptional host, checking in constantly and lighting our fires at night.

Rodney is a host(est) with the mostest. He is an incredible human with a very big heart, welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much for him. He makes the property to be what it is, peaceful and tranquil. Highly highly highly recommended to anyone looking to unwind and let the world go by. 11/10!!! Ps: it is a farm after all, so do expect the odd flying or crawling insect/animal - bees, lizards, wasps, bats etc....

Little Forest Farm is a lovely, peaceful getaway and is easily accessible from Johannesburg. Rodney is a superb host, and was always around to answer any questions and ensure we were comfortable and having a good stay. The cottage itself is beautiful and the indoor and outdoor fireplaces are a real treat. There are also lovely walks all over the property. I highly recommend staying here!

The only fly in the ointment is the roads, unless you're in an SUV you'll need to take it very slow.

Es war ein wunderschöner Garten und sehr ruhig. Zwei sehr liebevolle Hunde haben uns auf unseren Wanderungen begleitet. Rodney war ein toller Gastgeber! Sehr zu empfehlen!
