Tout était parfait, de l’accueil au départ. Très bon rapport qualité prix, dans une rue très calme : parfait pour se reposer après un trek de six jours ! Merci !

Nice And calm place, homemade bread for a breakfast , cozzy shared seating area

Wang and his mother welcomed us, like family members. We had 2 rooms, with very comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. We had the rooms with the balcony and sat outside enjoying the views. Wang helped us organise a 8 day family road trip which included plenty of activities for my kids, go karting, quad biking, camel riding, zip witing and river rafting. We had excellent drivers, who very caring, helpful and flexible to support our requirements. Wang was also helping other guests with planning trekking and bike riding trails, and supporting by storing luggage safety and sending luggage onto other places. Breakfast also great and we loved the local tea. We met lots of other guests -many who had stayed at Thangkop before. Returning guests, says it all. If like us, you wish to experience a real Leh family than I fully recommend staying at Thangkop.

Staying at Thangkop House was one of the most special parts of my time in Ladakh. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. Dolma’s warmth, kindness, and presence made the guesthouse feel like a true home — not just a place to sleep. Every detail was handled with love. Wang was incredibly kind and respectful, always making sure things ran smoothly and that guests felt at ease. He wasn’t just a host — he helped with every question, shared thoughtful tips for exploring Ladakh, and created an atmosphere that felt open and relaxed. Dolma’s fresh local bread every morning was a simple but beautiful gesture I looked forward to each day. The rooms are clean and quiet, and the garden is a peaceful spot to reflect after a day exploring. This place has heart. You don’t just stay here — you connect. Thank you for everything, Dolma, Wang, and Samir. It really meant a lot — I won’t forget this stay and hope to return one day.

The worm hospitality of the host Aunty makes it truly a home away from home. Aunty and Wang helped us with all we needed and even guided us with local sight seeing options. The day we reached Leh, the market was closed including all the eateries in Leh. Though the stay only provides Breakfast, aunty took the trouble to cook Lunch and Dinner on that day. And not to mention, she didn't charge anything for the food. In today's world this kind of gesture is very rare. Also, we had the room with a terrace, which was great. Wifi works fine and you get geiser for 24/7 hot water.

Comfortable room, reliable wifi, very friendly and helpful owners. Basic breakfast (eggs, butter, jam, coffee, tee) but sufficient.

Staff was great- very friendly and helpful coordinating taxis, etc. Location is a bit removed from the main road which helps reduce noise.We liked it enough that we returned twice! It was our home base in Leh.
