Authentic Japanese home stay. The couple who own the place are lovely; very welcoming and kind, but also leave you to your own space. Good sized room to sleep and relax in. Futon type bedding stored in cupboard in the room to put out at night time. Food option was fantastic! Home cooked meal served in the room (¥1000 pp) for dinner and breakfast (¥500 pp. Delicious and lots of it!

I loved the warm welcome after a day cycling (partly under the rain), the host, a lovely woman, had prepared a hot tea and the bath for me which was full and hot. Dinner 1000¥ and breakfast 500¥ were perfect. Thank you so much!

I dont normally write reviews but this one is outstanding. Backpackers price but you get a traditional 旅館 experience. The room is huge and sleeping on a futon definitely felt different.

凄く自由でゆったり過ごせました。 宿代も安かったので部屋も和室で2歳の子供もゆったり寝れました。満足です。

そこら中がカビが目立ってお風呂場や洗面所は少しきになりました。住人がお年寄りなので、そこまで衛生面は行き渡らないのかと思います。 気になる方には辛いかもしれません。

So, this is a special review as we did not stay there. We decided to look for another option after seeing the room. I think the room is ok and the owners are nice. You just have to be aware that you will ahve limited privacy with living really with a family and sharing the bathroom with them. After staying mainly in 4 star hotels in Japan this was just too much of a change in comfort and privacy.

Did not really find the surrounding that attractive as described in previous ratings but maybe we were not looking to the correct side

I thought I ended up here by chance— Turns out I found a magical place. I was looking for a quiet and cozy spot to read, write, and explore the area. If that’s what you’re after too, this place is perfect. The surroundings are absolutely beautiful—lush greenery, amazing flowers, lakes… just a magical vibe. It’s peaceful and calm, and there’s even a convenience store within walking distance. The hosts are a warm, big-hearted couple. I received such personal care, I truly felt at home—so much so that I ended up extending my stay. It was honestly a little sad to leave. The meals were amazing, lovingly prepared by the host, who was really attentive to my needs. Her husband even picked me up from the train—so thoughtful and caring. A special bonus was meeting their son, a talented potter, and watching him work in his beautiful studio. All in all, it was a wonderful experience.

I would’ve appreciated having an electric kettle in the room. When I asked, I was kindly given a thermos right away, which was lovely—but having a kettle in the room is definitely more convenient and comfortable. That way, you don’t have to bother anyone or worry about asking late in the evening.
