Life in Amed Beach Hotel

Liked being near the beach and enjoyed the gardens

Noisy location from motorbikes congregating outside, barking dogs, roosters, no fridge, no tv, no clear paths to beach from boats and debris, no tea and coffee making facilities in room

I loved the ocean view cottage and hearing the sounds of the waves in addition to the excellent snorkeling right off the beach. The cottage was comfortable, and the grounds were lovely. Staff were excellent, helpful, and professional. Really a great stay!

Because the hotel is small, and large group occupied the entire pool area. Not the hotel's fault, but something to be aware of.

Food, staff, garden, beach, rooms....everything ;)

Not directly at Lipah Beach, but at a quiet local beach with a wonderful reef for snorkeling and mostly local people, so this is only negative if you want many Restaurants around.

From the moment we arrived we felt this was a special place, the attention to detail in every way was exceptional. Thank you Sarah and your staff.

Needed to get around by car

The bed was super cozy. Access to the beach was really nice. There are fishing boats just outside the door coming back from gathering fish in the mornings. It’s really a beautiful site to see. The food was exceptional and fresh. The entire staff keeps you feeling right at home. Including in room dining if you want. Also close to Japanese ship wreck for snorkeling and diving!!!

I loved the manicured gardens! The pool was kept clean. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. On-site yoga was a plus!! My family loved the two cats.

We were troubled with mosquitos (rainy season) and unfortunately the pots of still water (for floating flowers) were breeding sites for mosquitoes. The roofing materials lent a smell to the upstairs bedroom that my daughters did not like.

Location was superb especially for those who like to dive/snorkel. Local fishermen land their boats on the beach directly in front of the hotel lodges. Food was excellent, good value for money. Room had water bottle but not chilled. Kettle /tea/coffee were also in the room. Lovely garden/pool area. Room was clean. Staff were lovely. Very chilled vibe if you're looking for this. Good AC in room.

Bed comfort, room layout - no seating area in the room, no view out to beach/sea unless you physically left the room or went upstairs. Bed was super hard, pillows too small and not comfortable, sheets were clean but the bed throw really did not smell good and the bath towels had seen better days. Wifi was hit/miss. We had to cut our stay short by a few days and return back home, but if we had not had to do this then we would have looked for an alternative hotel. No TV which didn't bother us but feet it worth mentioning as some families with kids would probably want this. In general, this hotel did not have the comfort level we were expecting and the price per night was definitely based on the location.

Beautiful property, ac and fans, pool is perfect. The restaurant was open all the time and the food was exceptional. Easy walk to little town of Lipah. Good snorkeling off the beach.
