Fort Dew Guest House

Had a lovely stay at Fort Dew, 5 minute walked to the main streets with restaurants and shops.

The location was good, and the look from the outside was alright. There was a mosquito net on the bed, and two towels and soap provided, which is nice.

The reception upon arrival was confusing and unprofessional. The bedsheets were stained and possibly unclean (something small like plant matter dropped on top of them from what we could tell). The toilet had hair on it from the previous guest. The bathroom door didn't close / open properly, and the shower was confusing - lacking pressure and hot water. Overall this was a disappointing stay and I would recommend staff have professional training in reception, cleaning and check in / out procedures. We stayed because it was only one night and we arrived later than planned, so finding another option would have been a challenge. If the place had been a much lower price, perhaps it would be worth it for the location only.

We stayed here for one night and it was perfect if you want to visit the fort but don't have a lot of time. We had the Sri Lankan breakfast and it was very good!

Tout. Le charme d’une vieille maison, la belle chambre bien équipée (bouilloire, frigo, coffre fort) avec une petite terrasse donnant sur un beau stupa, l’emplacement qui m’a permis de me baigner au pied des remparts au petit matin, le petit déjeuner sri lankais, délicieux sur la belle terrasse.

La route devant la maison est passante le soir, mais cela s’arrête vers 10h. Et le matin, tout est calme.

Excellent location sitting on the balcony overlooking the cricket pitch where at around 5pm most nights, a large group of lads hit the pitch. Twin room was big enough for 2, great quiet A/C and beds larger than a normal single. Owners let us go into their house to meet their 4 dogs and 4 cats. Toasted tomato and cheese sourdough sandwich was delish. Can walk from train or bus station in 5/6 mins.

Lovely guest house in galle fort perfect position peace and quiet only 5minutes walk from main area ,had perfect view from balcony looking out to ramparts sitting in the hammocks good for people watching as well especiciallywhen it rained. The hosts were lovely people and very helpful good breakfast as well

Herrlicher Ausblick von der Dachterrasse wo auch das Frühstück serviert wird. Sehr freundliches Personal, Zimmer sauber.
