Cwmbach Guest House

Lawrence was very friendly and had amazing knowledge of the area. Hill views from our room and decking area and sounds of waterfall at bottom of drive are amazing! Sitting out on the decking was lovely! The pub (crown and sceptre) was just down the road, food was great (tho no option for smaller plates) staff so-so. Convenience store at the bottom of the hill was well stocked. Lidl and Burger King 2 minute drive away.

Toilet door was too flimsy. I caught my finger in the handrail going down the stairs. There could be a ‘slop’ bucket in the kitchen for food/liquid scraps.

Great welcome from Lawrence who showed the house and gave great tips for walking areas. Comfy room and full use of the kitchen such as refrigerator, microwave, cutlery etc. Beautiful gardens and views, great to sit and enjoy the sound of the birds and to read a book.

Easy access, clean and tidy, hidden among woodlands, responsive host, all good experience, good value overall. Home away from home.

Lovely and peaceful location. Beautiful gardens and surrounds. Close to town but not close enough to hear anything. Appreciated the free washing liquid and fabric conditioner. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed for cooking whilst we were there.

Took a while to find the cutlery drawer :-D If only I'd read the guest book first... maybe a label on the hidden drawer might make it easier for future guests... a very minor "complaint". I was a tad frustrated when at first I couldn't find it, but then very amused when I discovered it :-D

Plenty of cold buffet breakfast. Excellent location as it is very close to family members who we visited. Great view of garden, fields and distant hills from bedroom window.
