Old Post Office

The room itself looked lovely and is spacious with a large bathroom. Unfortunately it was not the room we had booked - it was an entirely different building, which we were only told upon arrival.

We were told upon checking in we would be staying in the coach room, and not the Old Post Office which we had booked. The coach room is in an entirely different accommodation around the corner through two sets of coded gates. We were told at reception we would've had an email confirming this was our room but this wasn't the case, we only received automated emails from Booking.com to confirm it was the Old Post Office. Even in the winter, the room itself was extremely hot and stuffy, with no windows to open for ventilation. I was later told by reception staff it is just down to the old style of building. There was a large fan provided which had to be left running all night. Unfortunately the other issue was around noise due other patrons returning to their rooms directly above ours in the early hours. This may be difficult to control by the hotel but does not make it any less disruptive when the careless attitude of others sends loud noise through the building late at night, which continued for some time. Despite the room itself being comfortable and pleasant, there was one too many unexpected issues for a one night stay. When I tried to politely mention these when checking out, we didn't receive any apology from reception staff, only a look of shock that I'd said anything negative and saying that these were things they couldn't do much about.

Nice and warm rooms, and similarly, the whole property was nice and warm on a cold winter day. Breakfast was lovely, and the staff for the breakfast were very nice and welcoming. Showers and bathroom facilities were great too. easily accessible and can't say a bad word about our stay.

The bed was the most comfortable with down blankets and pillows, the bathroom was beautifully updated with a fantastic waterfall shower. It was our favorite stay our entire time in Ireland

Breakfast was delicious. It was cooked to order with a small buffet additionally. I was able to check in early which was a great help when attending a wedding.

The bed was very small, ideal for one person, but it would have been overly cozy if there were two in the bed.

A staff member at breakfast was unhelpful speaking to me in a bossy tone and manner. I declined breakfast and left .

Loved the bed, massive and very comfortable.
