I was the victim of an attempted robbery in Marrakech and had to immediately return to Portugal to be hospitalized due to the incident that caused me fractures. As such, I tried to cancel the rest of my trip however this accommodation never responded to my request and charged me the full amount of the reservation. Very lack of sympathy and understanding. Bad rating

Most things are already mentioned by other travellers… - location - fairly clean - good dinner

- no hot water to shower in the morning - guide was absolutely not worth the money asked and it felt quite like a scam. We were asked if we wanted a 3 hr walk or a day walk. We opted for a day walk. The price would be 700 MAD for the guide and 100 MAD for packed lunch per person. Seemed inflated, but yeah, we wanted a walk, so said yes. At end of the conversation the day walk morphed into a 5 hr walk. The guide came to fetch us the day after. We had to drive our own car, with him on the back seat, for 5 km till the trail start. Allright! Then we had a great route! For 3 hrs. Last 2 were walking for the sake of walking, to fill the 5 hrs, until we reached the hotel, only for us to still have to go fetch the car. All this time, the guide had nothing interesting to say. Would even only say something when asked just brushing off questions. Overpriced and disinterested, would be my description in a nutshell! - settling the bill turned out to be the cherry on the cake! Though they inform you upfront of exchange rate EUR - MAD and that you can also pay by card with 3% transaction fee, in reality it does not apply! They just randomly throw a 10% worse exchange rate at you and find all excuses not to have you pay by card! You end up being ripped off too, on too off of an already inflated bill (sth we only realized later)… To sum it up, the experience felt like scam built on a scam, nicely wrapped in hospitality with a smile! I could take being scammed at the market, but being scammed by a hotel goes against principles of hospitality altogether!

Hotel is good, new, clean and cosy. Diner was also not bad.

But unfriendly to Moroccans administrator of the hotel didn’t permit to stay my Moroccan guide in the hotel. It turned into the conflict and as a result my guide was forced to leave the hotel which was really unpleasant and shocked for me.

What a great place to stay on your way to the desert! We were there one night on our trip to Merzouga desert stay. What a great choice. The hotel pool is beautiful and the setting is great. The hotel is right on the main road but there are parking places out front and its easy to pull in. Our rooms were large and had windows on two sides. Bathroom had a nice sized stall shower and was very nice. We enjoyed our room's great balcony overlooking the pool and river. Wonderful. We ate dinner there; it was exceptional (be sure to book dinner ahead, this is a small, 8 room hotel and dinner is by preorder.). Dinner was terrific, the service was just like in a 4 star restaurant and the vibe was relaxed and fun. Other travelers were eating there as well. In addition, the price was so good, really a really good deal. The staff was kind and helpful. It was Ramadan so they made sure our driver had a place to break the fast and invited him to join them -- kind people. Breakfast was full and delicious.

There is no elevator so be prepared for stairs.

The crew are amazing, very good and nice people. They arrane fot us a " hafla" & exalent night. Very clean.

amazing location, rooms are gorgeous and food is really good. staff is very hospitable and made sure we had a pleasant stay.

Everything was great! From the location to the room and the employees as well as the dinner! I would strongly recommend Chez Ichou to everyone!

There's nothing not to like, everything was fantastic!
