Paul welcomed us warmly and offered us a homemade Romanian drink. The place is perfectly located, and our room was spacious

Unfortunately, there were many mosquitoes (dozens of them), which prevented us from sleeping. Also, the bathroom is small and outdated, and the kitchen is not pleasant to use.

My dad and I were traveling through to do the Mocanita train & decided to stay the night before our train. All was great. When we arrived someone greeted us (assuming it was Paul) & showed us where to park our car & offered us some of his homemade brandy. The beds were comfortable & the windows had nice screens on them to prevent bugs from coming in. A very nice big TV was there with lots channels & the WiFi worked very well. Although we didn’t use anything, there were plenty of places to cook meals in the kitchen and grill outside. The front gate made us feel safe.

The reason why I could only give this place an 8 is because of our experience through the night. Because the place is on the river the mosquitos were so bad. We couldn’t use the back terrace & we only opened the door 4 or so times to go in and out. Throughout the night we kept being woken up by mosquitos buzzing & when we finally turned on the light there were about 50 mosquitos in the room. After killing as many as we could we kept waking up to kill more. It was an awful experience and we didn’t sleep at all. My dad and I are covered with dozens of bites. I have never experienced anything like it. I don’t think there’s much Paul could do to prevent this as we are in terrible mosquito season (September), but just be aware of this beforehand if you’re coming in mosquito season.
