Iru Maldives

I really loved the location and the cozy ambiance we had there, the woody / beach style they have it’s lovely. It’s just in front of the beach. The staff was really kind and smiling always willing to help.

We believe the Air conditioner is not working properly as the room was not cold enough to sleep comfortable during night , I think they need to invest on this matter.

Samura's little sister, a quiet place, close to bikini beach which is very nicely arranged. A more rustic design with quite a lot of wood, a perfect place for a few quiet days on the island, in a fairytale setting.

The shower, but it's just a small detail

The staff was very nice..always smiling n happy to help... the property is small n cute..just what we wanted..it is located right at the beach..we also booked a few excursions with the hotel staff which was great.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. Nice garden with hammock in front of the property. Competitively priced excursions compared to the booths on the beach with 2 people (unless you are a larger group, in which case it is better to organize on your own).

Breakfast very European (Italian), although nicely served: fresh fruit, toast, egg. On request we got local Maldivian breakfast twice, but it would be good if we’d have choice from the beginning. The room has huge windows that face directly onto the street, which means that passersby have a direct view of the room, there is not much privacy. The island is undergoing renovation work, which means you can hear the digger plus for most of our stay the beach directly next to the property was unusable by the ditched sand. The hotel needs renovation (plaster falling off the walls etc). Very small bed for 2 persons.

When you arrive to Male you catch the speedboat - Iru will book for you place on the public one (cost 25$/person) or private one (cost 65$/person).From Male its cca30min, they will organize also transport from jetty to the guesthouse. All worked very well. Iru its small guesthouse – 5 rooms, its nice and simple – don’t expect luxury known from resort islands. As we decided on purpose we really like the place. We had room nr 1 on the floor. Room is big enough – to sleep and rest. If you don’t come with 5 big luggage’s you will manage to keep your clothes, snorkeling and other equipment. Bed had good mattress and pillows. Room has good size balcony with nice view. At balcony you have place to dry the towels, remember for the beach you can always borrow it at the reception. We had no issue with Wi-Fi signal in the room nor with the water pressure in the shower also no issue with cleanliness or wet floor in the room. Breakfast was ok -if you want to change smth don’t be afraid to ask. You can also order the dinner- we tried it and was very good. Both served on the beach or in the lobby. Guesthouse is located next to one of the 2 bikini beach’s on the island. Infront of the entrance there is small 2m wide “road”. We went and returned to the room in “ready to swim” mode. We enjoyed more the bikini beach on the other side of the islands. I run around the island-its 5km circuit. If you compare with Europe public beach in Mediterranean Sea it was empty – on the full beach 50 people, 25 in the water. We took the half day trip to an abandon island –nice– few snorkeling trips and try to see dolphins. What’s the best in IRU is Kamal and his team. Kamal is great, keep on smiling all the time, always helpful. On the first day he explained the rules – breakfast, towels, etc. - as well as gave us interesting tips on what to do or local restaurants. Kamal and the team made us feel very welcomed. Only bad point we had – was the “disco” night organized at nearby bar. Guys run the speakers full power like on the concert – really loudly. Luckily its done not often. On that day plan an evening out :) This kind of “disco nights” were run in several different places of the island - honestly a bit strange for me. You don’t go to Maldives for club nights. But maybe I’m wrong. One general remark on inhabited islands local have issue with cleanliness and organizing things – had feeling that things were dropped and left in completely random way. A pity as surroundings are amazing.

Excellent place to stay. Would recommend this island and this guesthouse. It was excellent. Great beach - breakfast served on large table on the beach. Lovely covered terrace.

Beautiful small guesthouse right at the beach, open and gorgeously designed living room on the ground floor. Breakfast ist served on the beach. Very beautiful and comfortable room with ocean view.

Nothing :) only thing I was wondering is why there aren’t any sun beds on their beach strip or why they didn’t do more with all that space in front of the hotel.

Comfortable rooms, great location and very friendly staff! The activities scheduled are a must! This small guest house became our home in Thulushdoo for 3 days. Here we met very nice people and spent unforgettable moments together!

Maybe rooms need some renovation and small adjustment. In our deluxe the shower was a bid annoying due to a bad installation of the siphon, on the 2nd day the sink was flooding and was a bad smell from the toilet. Nice balcony bur not with the sea view I meant - there are couple of meters separating the property from the beach and lots of palm trees and tropical vegetation around (nothing wrong with that just giving a more appropriate description of the room won’t disappoint guests at their arrival ;)
