Elizabeth House

We truly enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful experience. The house is beautiful, comfortable and extremely well equipped. Everything we needed was already available — from full braai facilities with tongs and equipment, to thoughtful extras like an iron, ironing board and even a baby chair. It honestly felt like every detail had been considered, which made our stay easy and stress-free. The room was lovely, the space felt welcoming and it was clear that effort was put into making guests feel at home.

If we had to mention small improvements, the pool chairs could perhaps be upgraded and the bedroom blinds may need a bit of attention — but these are really minor points and did not take away from our overall experience.

Die Gastgeberin war herzlich und das Zimmer geräumig. Die Dusche war richtig gut. Für Selbstversorger war eine große Gemeinschaftsküche vorhanden.

Das Mobiliar im Außenbereich war verrostet. Bei Hitze nur ein Ventilator. Und es war warm. Dazu noch Mücken, weil man Luft reinlassen musste. Wie so häufig in SA das Bett zu kurz.

The place was very peaceful and the owner was very friendly and accomodating.The place is very close to many facilities.

The pool was not really clean.

Sharron and staff were awesome. Great English Breakfast each day. Laundry services awesome. Very flexible with our needs.

Well this does not really apply because the property was located close to our friends house. I like a great view when I stay some where, but this was a block from friends. The Gold Rust room had a view of the mountains and Sharron lent us a French Press. So having good coffee at dawn and watching the Moon set was spectacular. See Grotto Beach and the Milkwood forest.

The Manageress was super. We couldn't have asked for better care. The location was further from the town centre and the sea than I expected. Didn't realise how much Hermanus had grown since I'd last been there 20 years ago. We came for the Whale Festival. Sadly the high wind meant we didn't go out on a boat. There was a group of business people involved in the Festival who were staying and were noisy. Hence we were upgraded upstairs to give us more privacy. We could still hear them, but they were friendly and pleasant and apologetic for the noise!

Being unable to cook even though there was a downstairs kitchen. The staff who come in to cook breakfast for the other group cooked fry ups with oil that filled the house with unpleasant smell. It was burned. They did open doors after the group had gone but it put us off sitting in the dining room for breakfast until later. We were advised not to drive past the township that Google maps directed us past to get into town...
