House on Westcliff

First class place to be.

The breakfast was good. Nice staff.

The third bed was a bit too small

We love everything about this place, we will definitely come back, the place is close to town, the lady who wellcomed us, she was very lovely, she took her time to brief us about the place.

Spacious rooms, lovely cooked breakfast, helpful staff. Comfortable bed and large waterfall shower. Close to the cliff path for daily walks Nice garden and pool

The rooms were clean and well equipped. The swimming pool and garden was lovely.

The host/lady at reception made us feel very unwelcome when we arrived early to drop our bags. First thing she said was: "where did you come from?" No 'hello, welcome' etc. She then said - you are very early. We said we were only dropping our bags and already just waiting for the taxi to arrive. We later checked the rules (of which there are plenty) and it states that you are able to drop your bags. In our case we didn't even leave it in the property- it was in our cars still so we needed no access prior to check in, apart from parking the car on the premises). She then said to settle our bill before the taxi gets there. The next day at breakfast she was equally unfriendly/unwelcoming. It spoilt our stay overall and our friends visiting from the UK were particularly disappointed at her attitude. She didn't even greet them in the morning. At one point my dad was saying something/answering a question and she said that he "spoke like he was lecturing". Not nice.

A bit away from centre

This was the perfect spot for our 30-day visit to Hermanus and area. With 6 rooms plus a larger efficiency unit, they have great options. A wonderful breakfast was served daily, our room was tidied up, beds made, bathroom cleaned daily. GM Lynda was the best! She always asked about our day plans and offered lots of welcomed eateries and events for our consideration. The large breakfast setting offered plenty of relaxed sitting and gave opportunity for us to entertain friends and family. The grandkids loved the pool! Keep our names handy, we'll be back!

After a long drive from Knysna we were delighted to be staying at the House on Westcliff. Our little bungalow room was very comfortable, clean and tidy. The walk in shower was really refreshing and we loved the added bonus of a jar of biscuits to have with our tea and coffee! Lynda was really kind and helpful, giving us advice on places to go and visit while we were there for the two days. Would highly recommend.
