Melk Houte Bosch Guest Farm

Beautiful house with all the amenities one might need (air fryer included). The area is vast and the views stunning. So much space to explore and enjoy, by foot, bicycle or 4x4. The river with canoes is wonderful. The farm dogs are too sweet and well-behaved. So much to love! Will be back.

Wasn't a huge fan of the number of crickets inside the house (mostly in the braai room).

The owner was very friendly and helped with many recommendations in the area. She picked up all our messages. The house was well equipped. The view was very nice.

It was a bit far from De Hoop reserve and the indications to get to the place were not clear: we got lost. Also the house was not very clean: the main room had lots of crickets going around.

Had to ask for coffee(very lttle in container when we got there) and hair dryer. Wood was not sufficient for braaiing as it left no coals. Maybe best to take your own braai wood.

Nice big house inside lovely farm.

Great stay! The house has everything you need. Wood for the Braai, dishes, games for kids, quiteness and great views.

The fireplace and the braai

Clean and modern house set on a beautiful working farm. The house was spacious and had the all the equipment that you would expect. The indoor braai and table tennis table were a hit. Sonja and Charity were highly responsive to our messages and extremely welcoming. The views of the rolling hills are amazing.

We didn't see any outdoor seating area or fire pit/ braai, etc. This was fine for us since we were there in cold, windy weather. I am sure that if you were to go in peak summer you would want to sit and enjoy the outdoors more.
