Plain good value. Food was very decent. Everything was clean and accommodation spacious and safe.

Struggled to use the gas stove and a stuffy smell after a night of heavy rains.

What can I say about this place? It was simply marvelous. The owners mentioned that many people tend to just drive through the town without stopping — and that’s a real pity. People should absolutely stop, have a cup of coffee, and stay over, because this place offers a truly wonderful experience. The initiative and creativity that went into the design and décor are remarkable. The rooms are exceptionally well thought out, with clever and interesting design solutions throughout. One standout detail is how they creatively opened a section of wall to incorporate the bathroom on the other side — a smart solution with a fascinating backstory. There’s a lot of history and story behind the place, and the owners are more than happy to share it with you when you meet them. They also have a small restaurant on the property, and I can honestly say it served one of the best steaks I’ve had in years. I’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy steaks all over South Africa, and this one easily ranks among the very best. Do yourself a favour and order the steak if you get the chance — you won’t regret it. The rooms were unbelievably tidy and well maintained. It can get quite hot, but this is well managed with fans and air-conditioning provided in the rooms, keeping everything comfortable. All in all, it was a very interesting, welcoming, and memorable stay — a beautiful place filled with character and history. I can highly recommend it. Give them a go; you won’t regret it.

Really can't find a thing wroung..

The accommodation was well located and very quirky.

The wifi was not good.

Great value for money. An interesting stay, kids were super excited to stay in an old jail. Property is private which makes it feel safe. On-site restaurant was a bonus, we had a delicious dinner without having to go out. The bedroom was super neat and clean on arrival.

The place needs a little maintenance and tlc. A coat of paint and a couple new fittings would help.

Probably the best mid-way stop over sleep over between Gauteng and the Cape.

It was so cool being able to stay comfortable in a piece of history. Upon later research, this Guesthouse should not be confused by the 1980s Afrikaans series, the stay was absolutely pleasant. I will definitely recommend it for anyone out there wanting to experience a bit more out of the ordinairy stay. Hot showers, comfortable bed, easy check in routine, quiet town, beautiful night sky, what else could there be asked for.

I stayed for one night, nothing could top it.

Definitely not the best location. We have never been to Britstown so maybe our expectations of the town were unrealistic.
