บ้านชมเขา - Baan Chom Khao

The hotel is away from the main area of town, and despite a last minute booking, we were warmly received. The property is on both sides of the road, and offers basic amenities at a good price. What really made it for me was the staff who were absolutely lovely and helpful, and the breakfast served in the coffee 'shop' which is an open air area, overlooking forest and a stream. Fabulous way to start the day!

The owners are literally so helpful, the sisters helped me got my tour and my bus ticket. They have three types of tours you can book, and you can rent a bike from them. The location is cool,there is around 11 mins walk to 711, 15 mins walk to the bus station, 15 mins walk to night market, 20 mins walk to train station. And nearby there is a pretty good vintage styled restaurant. Their staffs can’t really speak English but the owners would reply super quick, and all of them are super super kind and warm hearted.

Nothing.

Bed was way too firm. Just a matress atop a wooden frame. There was another mattress stored below the bed, odd I thought. There was some staining of sheets. It was strongly suggested that I pay for them upon check-out.. Not much, 750baht, about $23 US. I had to go to a cash machine nearby to withdraw more local currency. The whole thing felt like an extortion. Even if they are right. I don't think hotels or any other business should have to take losses to accommodate their customers. But I will say this, this has never happened to me anywhere I have stayed, not once, not ever. That's saying something. Also, if your intent is to go to the national park nearby, find a place that is close to one of the two (?) entrances the park has.

Die Besitzerin spricht fließend Englisch und tut alles für ihre Gäste. Sie organisiert hervorragend bis ins kleinste Detail. Sie machte meine Reise einfach und komfortabel. Das Hotel wird entsprechend gut geführt. Vorschlägen wird Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt. Es gibt Bungalows mit Blick auf den Fluss( teurer) und auf den Hof. Ich hatte ein Budget Zimmer, durfte aber den Blick im Restaurant genießen.
