Gouritz Guesthouse

The location is perfect. lovely walk to the lagoon and the beach, quiet and very peaceful. The beds were super-comfy, great sleeps. Hot shower and very clean. Table and chairs on the stoep under the tree were nice, as there was no rain. Steps up the roof and the view was fantastic. Free wifi connection was excellent, a nice surprise.

The only place to sit and relax (without going to bed) was the table outside. If had been any colder, or raining, we would have had nowhere to sit. The facilities are not fully self-catering and the fridge, kettle and microwave were adequate, but the 'kitchen' space quite cramped.

The room was spotlessly clean, as if we were the first guests. Smallish in size but very adequate. No meal option but everything available to serve a simple bite yourself.

Was informed very late that no food facilities where available. Resulted in a two hour diversion to find a bed and food. No recompense from Elsa

The hostess went out of her way to make us welcome and at home. The rooms spotless and comfortable. Even to that so often missing, small bench upon which to place ones suitcases. The establishment has full backup power for the dreaded load-shedding !

Being so near the sea, but not at the sea. A very minor inconvenience.

I couldn't cook food in the room but the braai facility was great.

We were on a motorbike trip , traveling light. The Room was perfect for us. Lovely comfortable Big bed. Perfectly situated for walks through the unique fynbos and to the 'town' for supper . Probably the best thing ever is that we were unaffected by the power load shedding. We wouldn't know they have such a good system . Good WiFi
